Downtown Denver Aquarium
Union Pacific Train Station
Day Six ... Friday Afternoon 07/31/09
For everyone else it was off to the airport to leave for home... But, not Ruth, Russ,
Dave & Becky .. We stayed in Denver and that afternoon we rode the Light Rail down to
the old Union Pacific Railroad Station which is still operational ... And then we bused
and hoofed it over to the Denver Down Town Aquarium. A sore point as I got us lost for a
little bit and Beckity had wanted to take a cab from Union Station.
This aquarium has Warm, cold, fresh and salt water fish from all over the world .. many
that I didn't even know existed! .. And we have 3 Salt water reef tanks of our own.
They also have a huge jungle exhibit with 3 large Bengal Tigers along
with the Amazon river full of native Piranha fish, etc.
This is why the Denver aquarium is so much better than the Monterey Aquarium in
CA because it features mainly the cold water creatures of the Pacific Ocean
with the actual bay water running through it.
We left for home the following day. Just a note ...If you book an extra day before
and or after any tour check out booking it yourself first and then do it which ever way
is the best.
