A county traffic policeman recently stopped a woman for exceeding the
posted speed limit. He asked the driver her name.
She said, "I'm Mrs. Ladislava Abdulkhashim Zybkcicraznovskayasadowski from the
Republic of Uzbekistan Provenciallia visiting my daughter at Columbia."
The cop put away his summons book and pen, and said, "Well... OK... but
don't let me catch you speeding again."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: DEAN A. MCEWEN
February 26, 1999 (916) 445-3353
SACRAMENTO: Senator Maurice Johannessen introduced legislation
Friday which would eliminate some of the unnecessary smog testing
of vehicles with after-market parts.
Currently, California requires vehicles to pass two types of
smog check tests: functional as well as the tailpipe test. The
bill, SB 1058, streamlines the "visual portion" of the smog
inspection by limiting the equipment required to be inspected,
thereby eliminating unnecessary inspection. Less time would be
spent by motorists and inspectors, fewer burdens would be placed
on referees, and less costs would be imposed on the state and
consumers by the program.
A car enthusiast himself, Johannessen stated, "Motorists who
upgrade their vehicles with after-market parts are often forced
to see a referee even though their car may run more efficiently
and cleanly. This is a complete waste of time, only benefiting
those bureaucracies which this process creates."
Added Johannessen, "If tail-pipe emissions are coming out
clean, it shouldn't matter at all what motor parts you have under
the hood. This is a good consumer bill that does nothing to harm
our air."

(Legislative Aide) or Dean A. McEwen (Press Secretary) at (916)

Hi Dave and Becky,
I just got done spending an hour surfing around your site. Great !!!! I
enjoyed all of it, especially your Pantera and the pics of the Diablos. I
took my first ride in a Pantera back in '75 and I still remember the
thrill. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Ride hard, ride safe.

Hi guys,
Way COOL WEB SITE!
Looks like you're just having too much fun!
I have ridden and raced motorcycles for many years but these days my
passion is my car.
I own Pantera 74 'L' #7046. We put on a good show at the 98 pantera
convention open track event at Vegas in April. I hav'nt been fortunate
to drive Laguna Seca yet, but the car and me are jumping at the bit
ready to go!
Well, got to go I'm busy trying to get July fourth cancelled (as I am
originally from England but have made this home for over 19 years now!)
Cheers
John P

Dave and Becky,
Love your Pantera website. Great pictures and music. AWESOME car. All
sites should be this much fun to visit! Posted the following to the
DeTomaso mailing list yesterday:
-------------------------------
"I was visitor 15 (and 16, had to see if their webcounter worked) so most
of you must not have been there.
Takes a while to load but it's got ATTITUDE.
http://www.c-zone.net/dochemp/9panter.html"
-------------------------------
You may notice that your visitor counter is up. How do you put a counter
on a page anyway? Wouldn't mind having one on my page:
http://www.conterra.com/bhill/pantera.htm
There are about 230 owners and other interested people on this discussion
group. If you are not currently on the list I suggest joining. Very
informative and helpful. To sign up go to:
http://realbig.com/detomaso/
If you want you can also join the DeTomaso webring. There are instructions
at the bottom of my page.
Have a great 4th,
Barry Harward
